Error: The battery in your Hasp Key has failed

This message could be appearing for two reasons. First, if you are a lease client there is an internal battery in the Hasp key for pertinent information. These batteries last approximately 4-5 years. If your battery has run out, we will replace your key immediately at no charge. Second, this message can be an erroneous message.


1) Click on the OK.
2) Please check to make sure your Hasp Key is plugged into your computer, not into a USB Hub. If it is plugged into your computer, try a different port.
3) Restart your computer.
4) Start SuccessWare, if it doesn't start automatically.

If the same message appears, you can run SuccessWare in view mode. Once you have signed in, please click on the File Menu in Success Tracking and choose upgrade Hasp key. When you are asked if you want to upgrade over the internet, click No. An Upgrade window will now appear. At the bottom of this window there is a Key Info button. Please click on this and verify your Hasp Date is correct, which should be the current date. If it is not, please provide SuccessWare with the following information:

Hasp Key ID: this is the red number on the Upgrade Window. You can move the Key Info box to view this number, or click OK once you have the information below to get this number.
Lease Expiration Date
Hasp Date
Tracking Version (if you are a lease client this should be 0)
Pricing Version (if you are a lease client this should be 0)
Planning Version (if you are a lease client this should be 0)
Maximum number of users
Key Issue Year: On the actual key there is a label. We need you to tell us the the two numbers that follow Time. For example Time 061AR. We would need you to tell us the 06.
