Upgrading to Multi-user

To upgrade to the multi user version of SuccessWare|
During this process it is important to keep your single user version of SuccessWare running until the server is up and running.
Begin by backing up your entire SuccessWare folder on external media, flash card cd/dvd.
When setting up the multi-user version of SuccessWare, you must choose one computer on your network to be a "server." The server computer stores the data entered into SuccessWare and allows multiple users to access it over your network simultaneously. For optimum performance, no other programs should be run on the server computer while the SuccessWare Server software is running. Once you have the multi-user version of SuccessWare up and running properly, you may experiment with running other programs on the server computer. However, please keep in mind that doing so will degrade the server's performance. Only you can determine if the level of performance is acceptable. Our recommendation will always be to have a dedicated computer running the server software.
See our system requirements page at : http://www.successware.net/requirements_intro.html
All of the other computers on your network access SuccessWare through the server computer. These computers are called "clients." Please note that you cannot use the server computer as a client.
Installing the Server
Move your SuccessW folder to the Program Files Folder(PC) Applications Folder (MAC) on the new computer
To install SuccessWare onto your chosen server computer, run the Server Installer and follow the on-screen instructions that appear.
Installing the Client
To install SuccessWare onto a client computer, run the Client Installer and follow the on-screen instructions that appear.
To run SuccessWare after installation, do the following:
Make certain the SuccessWare Server software is up and running.
Click SuccessWare Client on your desk top. A window will appear.
Click SuccessWare in the list of servers to select it. If you do not see SuccessWare in the list of servers, check that the SuccessWare Server is running, that the computer on which it is running hasn't gone into sleep mode, and that your network is set up properly. If you cannot find the problem, please contact SuccessWare, Inc. at 800-593-3767 for assistance.
Click the OK button. From now on, SuccessWare will automatically run on this computer without displaying the list of servers window.
Your Server computer should be set up as a static IP
SuccessWare Server application must be running for the client computers to have access to SuccessWare.
