Syncing Export to ICS - directly to device
Posted by Judy Grann on 21 November 2014 08:38 PM

Some clients have reported a 403 eror when exporting directly to Ical, and Icloud produces a 403 error.

For clients using Android or other devices, this method will work for you as well.

We have found a resolve to get around the 403 error.

Start by deleting your calendar off of iCal/iCloud.

That should stop the errors.

Macintosh and Windows user/ Iphones/ All devices that have a calander app can follow the steps below.

Next, Export to the ICS file, email it to yourself, and your staff. You can also text/chat it to your devices.
When you get the email or text on your device, select the ICS file and you should be able to add to your phone calendar.
You will be asked if you want to add to an existing calendar or create a new one, we recommend you create a new calendar, that way you won't have duplicates.

That should remedy the ICloud errors. We are not sure why, but they are not coming from SuccessWare, nor the calendar that is created.
It could be a character within the appointment that is causing it, but this should at least bypass the issue.

We are well on our way with a complete resolution for syncing, but this will hopefully help for the time being.
