Alert: The SSl encryyption keys could not be initialized
Posted by Judy Grann on 19 September 2012 04:16 PM

If SuccessWare was moved to a different computer you may receive the following error:

The SSL encryption keys could not be initialized because they could not be retrieved.

To fix this there are two files that need to be copied over from the original computer SuccessWarePri.txt and SuccessWarePub.txt.

For MAC Users:

These text files are located on the following directory: Macintosh HD>Library>Application Support>4D
Copy both the SuccessWarePri.txt and SuccessWarePub.txt from this location and place them in the same directory on the new computer.
**If you are running Multi User, these files are on the Server computer.

For Windows Users:

These text files are located in the following location: Under Windows 7 you will find these files at:Users\User name\AppData\Roaming
Under Windows XP the files are located under: Documents an Settings/UserName/ Application Data/ 4D
**If you are running Multi User, these files are on the Server computer.

If you moved to a new computer due to a Hard drive failure and these files are unrecoverable you will need to reset the SSL Encryption keys. To Do so:

Hold down the Caps Lock and Shift keys upon launch until a window appears asking if you want to reset them.

Click Yes.

The window will appear automatically if you start up Tracking and you have not set up Security.
If you have set up security, then you will need to hold down the Caps Lock and Shift Key immediately after you enter your User Name and Password then click Log In.

*If you are running Multi User, this is done on the Server computer. First a dialog will appear asking if you want to check the data file, click NO, then the SSL encryption reset window will appear.

Once SuccessWare is launched, go to the File menu and select Syncing, re-enter your Google password for each Google account in the list.

You will also need to reset your Credit Card information in Security and re-enter your user name and Password for your Credit Card Login. (You must have an adminstrator take care of this process)
