Backup Error 1409 - Troubleshooting

Error code 1409 happens during the backup process. It generally occurs from a read error on the specific files that are being backed up. In additon it can happen in the "write" process during the bakup while writing to the destination location of the backup.
Here are 3 possible causes of this error, and the steps for how to resolve them.
1. Disk permissions:
In order to perform the backup, you must have read permissions on all the files that are going to be backed up, and read-write permissions on the folder that the backup will be written to.
2. Not enough disk space:
Make sure there is enough space on the backup destination location (drive) where the backup files are to be written to. If the space is low the error may occur.
3. Error with the Backup.xml Preferences file:
Simply delete the Backup.xml file and then re-set the backup preferences.
On the Windows Operating system the file is located in successw/database/preferences/backup.xml
On Macintosh Multi-user, the Backup.xml is located in the Package contents/Server Database/Preferences/Backup.
On Macintash Single user the file is located in Package contents/Database/Preferences/Backup
